Why God and Country?

  • Christians and churches honor God as the USA celebrates July 4th
  • Our Founding Fathers say to commemorate “the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.”
  • It is our duty – Our Founding Fathers say we “ought to be obedient” to God
  • Confess our sins and heal our land – 2 Chronicles 7:14
  • Thank God for all He has done for Americans
  • Remember it is God who gives Christian liberty
  • Bring God’s blessings

What You Can Do:

  1. Ask Americans, churches and government to celebrate God and Country on July 4th
    • Remember God on this day of deliverance celebration
      • Thanks to God Americans have freedom to serve God, instead of tyrants
      • Freedom from serving man, tyranny and restrictions on Christian living
      • Freedom from unjust taxes, unjust laws…
    • Teach on God-given unalienable rights
    • Worship, thanksgiving and prayer with reverence
    • Remember what God has done for Americans
    • Pray in thanks for God being our God and for deliverance
    • Read the Declaration of Independence
    • Promote One Nation Under God, In God We Trust
    • Sing patriotic songs
      • God bless America
      • National Anthem – including the verse that says, “In God is our trust”
      • America the Beautiful
    • Read Scriptures (see below)
    • Read Founding Fathers Quotes (see below)
    • Preach God and country messages
    • Hold a God and country prayer meeting
    • Distribute God and country literature and tracts
    • Put on a re-enactment drama of God and country events
      • Praying and signing the Declaration of Independence

  2. Let God know that you believe the LORD is the God of the USA and Americans are His people.
    • What does “One Nation Under God” mean? “One nation under God” is covenant. We let God know the LORD is the God of the USA and Americans are His people.
    • Re-affirm that Americans choose the LORD as our God – The USA repents of false gods. To serve the LORD only is how to heal our land.
  3. Encourage Americans to speak up for our God-given unalienable rights
    • Ask Americans to read the Declaration of Independence
    • Where do your rights come from? Your rights come from God, not government. God-given rights and duties cannot be violated.
